After returning from my island hopping trip earlier this year, I immediately started the quest to find the next paradise island to pay a visit.
I asked some of my travel blogging friends for their best advice on other beautiful islands in Asia. These are the top 6 tips they gave me.
The islands of the Andaman Sea are stunning places well worth a visit. However, do they stand the competition of other beautiful islands in Asia? There are so many amazing places to visit, and sometimes the best way to find your next destination is to simply ask your friends for advice.
So, when I returned from my last trip, I asked some of my blogging friends for tips on other beautiful islands in Asia. I mean, who could be better to ask than your experienced travel blogging friends? Asking them would cover up for spots on the map I might have missed.
Let’s take a quick tour of the wonderful islands my fellow travel bloggers have visited in the past.
- Koh Tao (Thailand)
- Koh Samet (Thailand)
- Koh Jum (Thailand)
- Capones Island (Philippines)

❶ Koh Tao (Thailand)
By Elizabeth of Digital Travel Guru
An island located in Thailand approximately 1 hour 30 minutes from Koh Samui and about 1 hour 20 minutes from Koh Phangan. The island is world famous for diving schools and diving opportunities, it also has the added benefit of Koh Nang Yuan island a few minutes off shore another beautiful island to visit.
This stunning island is known for its beautiful beaches, sunsets, and beautiful viewpoints across the island. Koh Tao also has great accommodation choices to cater for all budgets. You will also find fantastic dining options, activities and nightlife on the island to keep you occupied. Koh Tao is a fabulous island to visit and with it being so close to other incredible islands why not go island hopping.
❷ Koh Samet (Thailand)
By Hannah of Suitcase Affair
Ko Samet is an easy-breezy weekend getaway from the big city of Bangkok. A cheap bus and a ferry is all you need! The turquoise ocean views are astounding no matter which beach you visit on the island. There’s a wide range of accommodation options, fit for every travel style. The beach even stays alive at night with live music and fantastic fire shows!
❸ Koh Jum (Thailand)
By Nicky of Travel Interesting
Half way between the bustling tourist spots of Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lanta, you’ll find the unspoilt oasis of Koh Jum. Not much has changed here in the last 20 years, with only a few cars on the island and a scattering of beach bungalows lining the shore; this is Thailand as it used to be. Be sure to check out Fu Bar for chilled reggae beats and the most delicious mojitos around.
❹ Capones Island (Philippines)
By Noel of Ten Thousand Strangers
Anawangin Cove, Camara Island, and Capones Island are three popular island destinations in Zambales, Philippines. What’s great about these islands is that there is no direct overland access (expect Anawangin Cove can be accessed by hiking through Mt. Pundaquit, popular among mountaineers) which means less crowd. Ther drawback is that there are no available accommodations but you can pitch your tents if you need to stay overnight.
Capones Island is a popular island-hopping destination in Zambales, Philippines because of an abandoned lighthouse standing on an elevated terrain. The top of the island is a great vantage point to view the nearby islands in the area.
You can reach these islands by driving 3 to 4 hours (or taking local buses) from Manila to San Antonio in Zambales. From there, you can hire boats which would take you to any or all these islands. Motorboat packages range from $20 to $30.
❺ Siargao Island (Philippines)
By Pierre of Anything Under Our Stars
Siargao is one of the most underrated tourist destinations in the Philippines. Through the years, it has built its reputation as the ultimate island experience. And in fact, known as the Surfing Capital of the country. If you fancy natural pools by the beach, sandbar beaches, swimming with the stingless jellyfish, hidden lagoons, this tiny island in the tropics is the perfect destination for you.
❻ Koh Kradan (Thailand)
By Per of Resrutt
Ok, ending this lineup with some self promotion, but the list wouldn’t be complete without this island.
Koh Kradan is one of the most beautiful islands in Asia. It’s the perfect place to settle down for some relaxing days on the white sandy beaches. The crystal clear waters and the stunning coral reefs attracts travelers looking for amazing snorkeling and diving.
This is definitely a place to recommend when travelling with children, the beach is perfectly suited for families.
